Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Prior experience in housekeeping or similar role preferred
  • Ability to perform physical cleaning tasks and handle multiple priorities
  • Willingness to work in a senior living environment and show respect for resident privacy
  • Ability to follow safety protocols including the use of PPE and handling cleaning chemicals
  • Ability to participate in team meetings and complete required training
  • Must pass a drug test, tuberculosis test, physical evaluation, and background check if required
  • COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations may be mandated by applicable laws
  • As applicable, drivers must review and sign the driver job description and comply with safety requirements

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to provide housekeeping and laundry services in a resident-centered environment meeting quality standards
  • Desire to work with seniors
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Good judgment, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work semi-independently and follow community procedures
  • Willingness to participate in team engagement and training programs

Job Duties

  • Perform general housekeeping duties in resident suites, public areas, and support areas while meeting or exceeding quality standards
  • Perform cleaning duties according to schedule including sweeping, dusting, mopping floors, sanitizing fixtures, polishing furniture, and cleaning glass surfaces
  • Knock on resident and restroom doors before entering to respect privacy
  • Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies in a clean, orderly condition
  • Transport supplies including clean and soiled linen to appropriate areas
  • Collect trash and maintain trash receptacles in a sanitary manner
  • Collect, wash, dry, fold, count, and inspect linens following approved laundry procedures
  • Maintain commercial laundry area clean and sanitary
  • Assist Care Managers and Department Coordinators with resident care when requested
  • Practice positive resident relations and respond to resident requests
  • Review Daily Log to stay informed about residents' physical and behavioral changes
  • Ensure cleaning chemicals are stored securely and hazards are minimized
  • Comply with safety rules including use of PPE and infection control procedures
  • Participate in team meetings and maintain compliance with required training
  • Perform other duties as assigned
