Job Duties

  • Sorts, counts, folds, marks, or carries linens
  • makes beds
  • replenishes supplies such as drinking glasses and writing supplies
  • cleans corridors and stairways
  • sweeps and scrubs bathroom floors
  • cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies
  • dusts furniture
  • washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork
  • washes windows, door panels, and sills
  • empties wastebaskets and cleans ashtrays
  • transports trash and waste to disposal area
  • replenishes bathroom supplies
  • replaces light bulbs
  • scrubs bathroom vanity, toilet, mirrors, walls and bathroom fan
  • completes a quality check on the television, telephone, AC and smoke detectors
  • removes items left behind from room and delivers to lost and found with proper documentation
  • reports maintenance problems to the maintenance department
  • uses cleaning supplies efficiently
  • wears proper uniform including nametag
  • scores 90% or higher on room inspections
  • greets guests pleasantly and by name
  • knows in-house products and local area information
  • organizes and stocks housekeeping cart timely
  • keeps commercial areas clean and neat
  • responds timely to guest needs for supplies
  • checks vacancy status daily
  • maintains clean and organized storerooms
  • displays team attitude and assists co-workers
