Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • previous housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred
  • ability to perform physical housekeeping tasks
  • desire to work with seniors
  • compliance with Sunrise policies and procedures
  • ability to communicate effectively
  • willingness to follow safety protocols and infection control measures
  • must pass pre-employment screening including drug test and background check as required
  • ability to work flexible hours as needed

Job Duties

  • Perform general housekeeping duties in resident suites, public areas, and support areas
  • perform cleaning duties according to schedule including sweeping, dusting, mopping, vacuuming, sanitizing, and polishing surfaces
  • knock on resident doors before entering and respect their privacy
  • maintain equipment and supplies in clean and orderly condition
  • transport clean and soiled linen to appropriate areas
  • collect and dispose of trash in a sanitary manner
  • collect, clean, and redistribute community laundry
  • sort, wash, dry, fold, count, and stack linens
  • inspect linens for wear and tear and report damaged linens
  • maintain commercial laundry cleanliness
  • assist care managers and coordinators with resident care when requested
  • practice positive resident relations and respond to resident requests
  • document resident physical and behavioral changes
  • ensure cleaning chemicals are stored and locked when not in use
  • maintain clear and safe work areas in compliance with fire codes
  • adhere to safety procedures including PPE and infection control
  • participate in team meetings and training
  • contribute to team engagement and work towards team goals
  • perform other duties as assigned
