Job Description

Barnes-Jewish St. Peter's Hospital is a reputable healthcare institution committed to serving the healthcare needs of families in St. Charles, Lincoln, and Warren counties. Job Requirements

  • No prior experience required
  • No supervisory experience required
  • Must be able to work full time 40 hours per week
  • Ability to work rotating holidays and every other weekend
  • Availability to work 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • Must have high school diploma or GED for preferred qualification
  • Ability to perform physical tasks related to housekeeping
  • Must be able to interact professionally with patients and staff

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Less than two years of experience in housekeeping or similar role preferred
  • Ability to follow established cleaning procedures
  • Good communication skills for interacting with patients and staff
  • Ability to work 40 hours weekly including rotating holidays and every other weekend
  • Ability to maintain hospital equipment cleanliness and functionality

Job Duties

  • Perform routine janitorial and cleaning activities in patient, public and common areas using prescribed cleaning processes
  • Perform discharge cleaning process in inpatient rooms and prepare room for the next admission
  • Perform room set up and changes including changing linens, cleaning, mopping and furnishing
  • Keep equipment clean and functional according to procedure
  • Notify supervisor or manager of any equipment, furniture, or building fixtures needing maintenance
  • Ensure hospital areas are appropriately cleaned to support patient safety and comfort
  • Provide a reassuring presence to patients during cleaning activities
