Job Description

The Department of Residential Facilities at the University of Maryland, College Park, is responsible for delivering maintenance and housekeeping services across the campus's extensive housing and recreational infrastructure. This department manages over 70 residence halls, Greek chapter houses, and recreational facilities, collectively covering more than 2.7 million square feet. Job Requirements

  • ability to lift materials and equipment weighing up to fifty pounds
  • willingness to work some weekends and holidays

  • availability from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Job Duties

  • provide housekeeping services in assigned area
  • maintain highest standards of cleanliness, appearance, healthfulness, and safety
  • perform housekeeping tasks including trash removal, floor care, restroom/locker room cleaning, public area cleaning, and high dusting
  • stand, walk, bend, twist, and stoop while performing duties
  • demonstrate effective use of overhead work and powered equipment
  • work some weekends and holidays
  • inspect work for quality and safety
