Job Requirements
- Six months of experience in commercial housekeeping highly preferred
- demonstrates understanding of written and verbal communications in English
- leads must have six months experience in housekeeping at Valley Medical Center
- successful completion of the WorkSteps evaluation
- working knowledge of computers highly preferred

Job Duties
- Clean and perform assigned tasks in the assigned area according to department procedures
- fill out assignment completion report daily and communicate to shift supervisor
- communicate cleaning needs, maintenance, repairs and other concerns to shift supervisor
- respond to customer cleaning requests in a timely manner
- perform daily patient room cleaning and discharge cleaning following procedures
- collect and transfer trash and soiled linen to designated areas
- empty waste receptacles and linen holders
- clean trash and linen collection carts
- sweep, dust mop, and wet mop floors
- auto-wash, machine scrub, burnish, vacuum, or polish floors as needed
- wash walls, ceilings, and windows using appropriate cleaning tools
- wash sinks, cabinets, and fixtures
- refill disposable supplies such as towels, soap, and toilet paper
- monitor quality and report repair or maintenance needs
- complete special cleaning assignments
- attend department in-service and education meetings
- follow all policies and procedures
- perform all other duties as assigned
