Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Experience in housekeeping and laundry in a senior living environment desired
- Desire to work with seniors
- Ability to follow safety and infection control procedures
- Ability to maintain privacy and professionalism
- Physical ability to perform housekeeping tasks
- Willingness to comply with drug test, tuberculosis test, physical evaluation, and background check
- Covid-19 and influenza vaccination if mandated
- Ability to work in a team and participate in required training
- Understanding and commitment to Sunrise principles of service
- If applicable, willingness to adhere to driving policies for Sunrise vehicles
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Experience in a resident-centered housekeeping or laundry role preferred
- Ability to provide housekeeping and laundry services meeting or exceeding quality standards
- Desire to work with seniors and show compassion
- Effective communication skills
- Basic organizational and time management skills
- Ability to follow safety procedures and infection control techniques
- Ability to work semi-independently and demonstrate initiative
Job Duties
- Perform general housekeeping duties in resident suites, public areas, and support areas while meeting or exceeding Sunrise quality standards
- Clean resident suites, bathrooms, common areas, and offices including sweeping, dusting, mopping, vacuuming floors and carpets
- Sanitize, clean, and polish lavatory, shower, and sink fixtures
- Dust, hand shampoo furniture, clean and polish glass surfaces and woodwork
- Respect resident privacy by knocking before entering rooms
- Maintain housekeeping equipment and supplies in a clean and orderly condition
- Collect trash and maintain trash receptacles and collection areas
- Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, count, and stack linens following approved laundry procedures
- Inspect linens for wear and tear and follow procedure for damaged linens
- Maintain commercial laundry in a clean and sanitary condition
- Assist Care Managers and Department Coordinators with resident care when requested
- Practice positive resident relations and respond to resident requests
- Comply with safety and risk management policies including proper storage of cleaning chemicals and adherence to fire codes
- Participate in team meetings, training, and contribute to team success
- Perform other duties as assigned
