Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • relevant experience in housekeeping or laundry services
  • ability to follow health, safety, and infection control protocols
  • physical capability to perform cleaning duties including lifting and standing for extended periods
  • willingness to work flexible hours as required
  • ability to respect resident privacy and demonstrate empathy
  • able to comply with mandatory drug testing and other pre-employment screenings
  • as applicable, ability to sign Driver job description for team members who drive company vehicles

Job Qualifications

  • able to provide housekeeping and laundry services in a resident-centered environment meeting or exceeding quality standards

Job Duties

  • Perform general housekeeping duties in resident suites, public areas, and support areas while meeting or exceeding Sunrise quality standards
  • perform scheduled cleaning tasks including sweeping, dusting, mopping, vacuuming floors and carpets
  • clean, sanitize, and polish lavatory, shower, and sink fixtures
  • dust, wash, sponge mop, hand shampoo furniture, dust lamps, polish glass surfaces and woodwork
  • knock on resident and public restroom doors before entering to respect privacy
  • maintain equipment and supplies in a clean and orderly condition
  • transport supplies including clean and soiled linens to appropriate areas
  • collect and remove trash maintaining trash receptacles and collection areas clean and sanitary
  • collect, clean, and redistribute community laundry
  • sort, wash, dry linens following approved procedures
  • fold, count, and stack linens
  • inspect linens for wear and tear and follow procedures for damaged items
  • maintain commercial laundry area clean and sanitary
  • assist Care Managers and Department Coordinators with resident care when requested
  • practice positive resident relations and respond to resident requests
  • review and note Daily Log information related to residents
  • ensure cleaning chemicals are stored and locked when not in use
  • keep cords, carts, and equipment clear of exits and compliant with fire codes
  • promote compliance with occupational health and safety requirements
  • practice safety procedures including PPE and fire safety
  • maintain equipment to avoid waste, damage, and accidents
  • comply with infection control techniques and biohazard procedures
  • participate in team activities and commitment to team goals
  • demonstrate Team Member Credo in daily interactions
  • commit to serving residents through Principles of Service
  • contribute to engagement programs and improvement initiatives
  • attend regular meetings
  • maintain required training compliance
  • perform other duties as assigned
