Job Requirements
- high school diploma or GED or one year previous job experience in lieu of diploma
- at least one year experience in housekeeping duties preferred
- ability to maintain a safe, clean, sanitary and comfortable environment
- capability to follow safety procedures and infection control policies
- ability to use personal protective equipment properly
- ability to handle cleaning chemicals safely
- capacity to maintain cleaning equipment
- willingness to work in a healthcare long-term care environment
- ability to work days on a full-time or part-time basis
Job Qualifications

Job Duties

- promotes and supports a resident-centered care environment ensuring kindness, respect and dignity to residents, families, visitors and staff
- adheres to facility and department work rules, policies and procedures
- ensures resident rooms and public areas are clean, safe, comfortable and attractive
- follows established safety procedures when performing tasks and using equipment
- follows proper techniques when mixing chemicals, disinfectants and cleaning solutions
- uses appropriate personal protective equipment when handling infectious materials
- maintains adequate housekeeping supplies and informs supervisory staff of supply needs
- operates and maintains cleaning equipment properly
- keeps work areas free of hazardous materials and objects
- promotes efficient use of resources in job functions
- ensures cleaning schedules and work records are completed
- adheres to infection control policies and procedures
- reports hazardous conditions and equipment malfunctions
- performs all other assigned duties
