Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in cleaning or environmental services preferred
- Ability to follow detailed cleaning protocols and standards
- Must be able to work cooperatively with coworkers and customers
- Ability to demonstrate dependable, courteous and cooperative work performance
- Must possess high integrity and maintain confidentiality
- Ability to undergo seasonal and job related vaccinations
- Must complete hospital-wide orientation and annual competencies
- Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks including lifting and moving equipment
- Flexibility to perform duties in response to emergencies
Job Qualifications
- Successful completion of hospital-wide orientation, annual hospital competencies and department/unit specific competencies
- Awareness of hospital and department compliance for federally funded healthcare programs such as Medicare and Medicaid
- Ability to communicate effectively with the public, patients and staff in a positive, professional manner
- Demonstrated ethical behavior in all areas of personal and professional activity
- Technical aptitude with cleaning equipment and chemicals
- Strong customer service skills
- Professionalism and teamwork
- Understanding of diverse patient needs across age groups
Job Duties
- Daily cleaning and filling supplies in patient rooms, nurses stations, lounges, bathrooms, offices, isolation cleaning of patient rooms, discharge cleaning of patient rooms, project work as assigned, use cleaning devices including housekeeper cart, germicidal disinfectant chemicals, high dusters, microfiber mops, ladders, vacuum, mini extractor, Xenex robot and other necessary equipment and supplies, perform cleaning function in assigned areas following established schedule and using prescribed methods, assist in cleaning of emergency spill observed or upon request, maintain assigned equipment for cleanliness and have repairs made as needed, observe and report the need for repairs to equipment, furniture, building and fixtures, perform duties as assigned in case of emergencies
