Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, and stooping
- able to handle materials and perform tasks like walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices
Job Qualifications
- able to read, write, speak, and understand English
- high school diploma or equivalent
- previous institutional housekeeping experience preferred
- prior experience working in a long-term care facility a plus
Job Duties
- gathers and disposes of trash ensuring plastic liners are in containers at all times
- vacuums, dust/wet mops, and sanitizes floors daily
- empties trash bins and maintains a clean environment surrounding the dumpster
- cleans walls, ceilings, windows, stairwells, hallways, metal fixtures, light fixtures, tops of windows, doorframes, and other high places using a step ladder if necessary
- hangs draperies, privacy curtains, etc. as necessary
- keeps utility room and housekeeping closets in order and sanitized
- follows established sanitation and safety standards
