Job Requirements

- four to six months housekeeping experience or training preferred
- ability to understand, read, write and speak basic English

Job Duties
- Sorts, counts, folds, marks, or carries linens
- cleans multiple rooms daily including changing linens, making beds, dusting, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, polishing furniture and fixtures
- replenishes supplies such as drinking glasses and writing supplies
- cleans corridors and stairways
- sweeps and scrubs bathroom floors
- cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies
- dusts furniture, washes walls and woodwork, washes windows, door panels, and sills
- empties wastebaskets and cleans ashtrays
- transports trash and waste to disposal area
- replenishes bathroom supplies and replaces light bulbs
- scrubs bathroom vanity, toilet, mirrors, walls and bathroom fan
- completes quality checks on television, telephone, AC, and smoke detectors
- removes items left behind from room and follows proper hotel procedure
- reports maintenance problems to maintenance department
- uses supplies and equipment carefully
- wears proper uniform at all times
- achieves score of 90% or higher on room inspections
- greets each guest pleasantly
- displays knowledge of hotel products and local area information
- organizes and stocks housekeeping cart timely
- maintains cleanliness of commercial area
- responds within 10 minutes to housekeeping supply requests
- uses guest names when entering occupied rooms
- checks all vacant rooms daily
- keeps supply room clean, neat and organized
- assists coworkers and displays team attitude
