Job Requirements

  • Be at least eighteen years of age
  • be an American citizen or Green Card holder
  • be willing and able to work a minimum of 12 hours per day, for 7 days a week, for up to 28 weeks
  • meet moderate physical demands including lifting, bending, climbing, and extended periods of standing or walking
  • pass a pre-employment drug test including for marijuana and other controlled substances
  • abstain from alcohol consumption while onboard
  • comply with emergency and safety training
  • adhere to grooming standards including limitations on visible tattoos and piercings
  • accept temporary employment status not exceeding 28 weeks

  • demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • possess a commitment to hospitality and guest service excellence

Job Duties

  • Responsible for creating and maintaining an environment that is clean, safe, and attractive for guests
  • prioritizing comfort and cleanliness of staterooms, facilities, and common areas around the ship
  • acknowledging guests by name and kindly taking action for all housekeeping-related inquiries and service requests according to American Cruise Lines’ service standards
  • vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors
  • organizing inventory and stocking linen and supplies
  • carefully cleaning up spills with appropriate equipment and notifying managers of necessary maintenance requests
  • collecting and disposing of trash
  • properly cleaning upholstered furniture and lounge spaces
  • creating genuine relationships with guests and catering to all housekeeping requests in an efficient manner
  • performing additional functions such as greeting guests upon embarkation and assisting during special events including afternoon tea and evening cocktail parties
