Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years old
  • ability to perform physical tasks associated with housekeeping duties
  • willingness to work scheduled hours of 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. on various weekdays, every third weekend, and holidays
  • adherence to infection control and safety policies
  • ability to handle cleaning equipment and chemicals safely

Job Qualifications

  • Prior housekeeping experience preferred but not required
  • ability to follow policies and procedures
  • good communication skills to maintain positive relationships with residents, families, and staff
  • ability to work various weekdays including every third weekend and holiday rotations
  • basic knowledge of cleaning techniques and safety protocols

Job Duties

  • Clean resident rooms, baths, common resident areas, staff work areas and other common areas used by staff and visitors
  • perform cleaning procedures such as mopping, dusting, vacuuming, washing windows and walls, polishing and scrubbing
  • ensure that all work areas and carts are kept safe and secure
  • be familiar with all infection control and department and facility policies and procedures that directly affect the duties of housekeeping
  • follow all safety rules when using equipment and chemicals and report unsafe work areas to a supervisor
  • maintain a positive relationship with residents, families, and staff
  • re-stock housekeeping carts, soap dispensers, paper towel dispensers, and toilet tissue
  • keep all equipment clean, locked as indicated, and in a safe manner
