Job Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old
- ability to perform physical tasks associated with housekeeping duties
- willingness to work scheduled hours of 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. on various weekdays, every third weekend, and holidays
- adherence to infection control and safety policies
- ability to handle cleaning equipment and chemicals safely
Job Qualifications
- Prior housekeeping experience preferred but not required
- ability to follow policies and procedures
- good communication skills to maintain positive relationships with residents, families, and staff
- ability to work various weekdays including every third weekend and holiday rotations
- basic knowledge of cleaning techniques and safety protocols
Job Duties
- Clean resident rooms, baths, common resident areas, staff work areas and other common areas used by staff and visitors
- perform cleaning procedures such as mopping, dusting, vacuuming, washing windows and walls, polishing and scrubbing
- ensure that all work areas and carts are kept safe and secure
- be familiar with all infection control and department and facility policies and procedures that directly affect the duties of housekeeping
- follow all safety rules when using equipment and chemicals and report unsafe work areas to a supervisor
- maintain a positive relationship with residents, families, and staff
- re-stock housekeeping carts, soap dispensers, paper towel dispensers, and toilet tissue
- keep all equipment clean, locked as indicated, and in a safe manner
