Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
- Ability to understand and follow various cleaning procedures and safety protocols
- Strong communication skills to interact with team members, supervisors, patients, and hospital personnel
- Well-developed time management skills to prioritize and complete assignments on schedule
- Capability to use environmental service equipment including mechanical floor cleaners and other devices
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions
- Willingness to work variable shifts including day, evening, and night with every other weekend availability
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
- Knowledge of sterile environment maintenance and cleaning procedures
- Ability to interpret instructions presented in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formats
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Well-developed time management and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work within established policies and procedures
- Capability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience operating basic environmental service equipment
- Problem-solving skills to evaluate and resolve standard issues
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with peers and other staff
Job Duties
- Perform cleaning of patient rooms, offices, hallways, and other assigned areas
- Handle transport, equipment, and room set-up tasks
- Remove trash and manage linen handling as required
- Distribute supplies and maintain stock levels across departments
- Adhere to sanitization and safety regulations
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, peers, patients, and hospital staff
- Operate environmental service equipment such as floor cleaners, buffers, vacuums, washers, and dryers
