Job Requirements
- Must be able to work full-time 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., including every other weekend
- Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, and housekeeping areas
- Must perform regular inspections of resident rooms for sanitation, order and safety
- Must comply with Athena Health Care Systems' COVID-19 vaccination policy or have an approved exemption
- Must demonstrate professionalism and uphold privacy practices
- Must be able to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with residents and staff
- Must have physical ability to perform cleaning tasks and respond to spills and emergencies
Job Qualifications
- No experience necessary, on-the-job training provided
- A minimum of one year experience in housekeeping in a nursing home or other related medical facility is preferred
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and accept constructive criticism
- Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public
- Willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel and handle residents maturely
- Ability to seek out and accept new methods and incorporate them into existing housekeeping practices
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions concerning cleaning compounds and procedures
- Ability to communicate effectively regarding emergency situations
Job Duties
- Ensure residents' rooms are neat, clean and free from odor
- Wet mop floors daily
- Shampoo and extract carpets as per schedule
- Attend to spills immediately
- Empty trash liners and clean containers
- Clean bed and rails with disinfectant
- Clean all countertops, windowsills, bedside tables, furniture and over the bed
- Strip, seal and refinish floors as per schedule
- Clean floor edges and corners to prevent build-up
- Clean windows and mirrors
- Clean personal items, pictures, decorations, flowers, etc
- Demonstrate correct safety techniques
- Contribute to effective communication and pleasant working conditions
- Complies with privacy practices and protects residents' health information
- Other duties assigned by managerial team
