Job Requirements
- Janitorial or maintenance experience required
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various conditions
- Ability to climb up to two flights of stairs
- Capability to lift objects of 25 pounds or less overhead
- Ability to move objects of 40 pounds or more
- Ability to work under time-sensitive or stressful situations
- Willingness to respond to medical emergencies and assist with resident evacuations if necessary
- Commitment to maintaining a professional appearance and confidentiality
Job Qualifications
- Technical certification from a janitorial program desired
- Two years experience in a similar housekeeping position preferred
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality
- Skilled in using hand tools, carts, and dollies
- Strong professional demeanor and ability to work with minimal supervision
- Good interpersonal skills for resident and employee relations
- Understanding of safety procedures and emergency responses
Job Duties
- Represent the campus in a positive manner fostering respect and courtesy for residents and employees
- Work within campus programs to promote safety and well-being
- Uphold the campus Mission Statement
- Maintain confidentiality according to HIPAA standards
- Remove trash from collection areas
- Clean inhabited and vacant units to a 'like new' condition, including cabinets, surfaces, floors, glass, windows, walls, fixtures, and window sills
- Clean building areas to a 'like new' condition using proper chemicals and supplies
- Travel occasionally for training and company functions
- Know fire and safety procedures including blood-borne pathogens
- Maintain a professional appearance and wear proper uniform
- Complete all cleaning orders timely
- Exercise waste control
- Interact professionally with marketing tours and prospective residents
- Maintain excellent resident and employee relations
- Attend employee in-services
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor
