Job Requirements
- sufficient physical strength and agility to carry out essential duties
- lift, pull and carry up to 50 pounds
- ability to erect and stand on ladders and platforms up to 30 feet
- ability to work with paint, cleaning equipment, chemical compounds, solvents, cleaners, and solutions in various forms
- ability to paint, clean equipment, and operate motorized equipment as needed
- ability to work in conditions that generate dirt and dust
- ability to perform essential maintenance involving reaching overhead, crouching, kneeling, shoveling, carrying, working in narrow or confining spaces, twisting waist, shoulders, and legs, and lying on stomach or back
- completion of satisfactory background checks including criminal background, reference checks, E-Verify, drug tests, driver’s license records, and Child Protective Services Check
Job Qualifications
- six months or more of related experience preferred
- ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
- ability to report and record maintenance requests
- knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment
- basic understanding of the upkeep and care of equipment
- understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals and their safe, efficient use
- abides by all YMCA COVID sanitation practices and standards
Job Duties
- complete all duties listed on the daily cleaning schedule
- maintain upkeep of assigned area and equipment
- perform mopping, dusting, trash removal, recycling, window washing, pool cleaning, painting, and vacuuming
- conduct seasonal activities such as lawn care and snow removal
- operate motorized and non-motorized cleaning equipment
- perform light repairs including replacing light bulbs, ceiling tiles, and painting
- report all needed repairs and repair as directed
- ensure YMCA building and property security during shift
- report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor
- set up furniture for events
