Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
  • Valid driver’s license (for Sutter Maternity & Surgery Center department)
  • Auto insurance (for Sutter Maternity & Surgery Center department)
  • Knowledge of sterilization and cleaning procedures
  • Ability to communicate with diverse groups
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Availability to work variable shifts including every other weekend

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
  • Knowledge of maintaining a sterile environment including proper cleaning procedures and various equipment
  • Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Well-developed time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to operate mechanical cleaning equipment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Prior experience in environmental services or healthcare cleaning preferred

Job Duties

  • Perform a variety of cleaning tasks to maintain patient rooms, offices, hallways, and other assigned areas
  • Handle equipment transport and room set-up
  • Remove trash and manage linen handling duties
  • Distribute supplies to departments and maintain stock levels
  • Operate basic environmental service equipment including floor cleaners, buffers, vacuums, washers, and dryers
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal sanitation and safety regulations
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, patients, and hospital personnel
