Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
- Valid driver’s license (for Sutter Maternity & Surgery Center department)
- Auto insurance (for Sutter Maternity & Surgery Center department)
- Knowledge of sterilization and cleaning procedures
- Ability to communicate with diverse groups
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment
- Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
- Availability to work variable shifts including every other weekend
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
- Knowledge of maintaining a sterile environment including proper cleaning procedures and various equipment
- Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Well-developed time management and organizational skills
- Ability to operate mechanical cleaning equipment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Prior experience in environmental services or healthcare cleaning preferred
Job Duties
- Perform a variety of cleaning tasks to maintain patient rooms, offices, hallways, and other assigned areas
- Handle equipment transport and room set-up
- Remove trash and manage linen handling duties
- Distribute supplies to departments and maintain stock levels
- Operate basic environmental service equipment including floor cleaners, buffers, vacuums, washers, and dryers
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal sanitation and safety regulations
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, patients, and hospital personnel
