Job Requirements
- 6 months of experience in commercial housekeeping highly preferred
- demonstrates understanding of written and verbal communications in English
- leads must have 6 months experience in housekeeping at Valley Medical Center
- successful completion of the WorkSteps evaluation
- working knowledge of computers highly preferred

Job Duties
- Cleans/performs assigned tasks and projects in the assigned area according to department procedures
- fills out assignment completion report daily and communicates with shift supervisor
- communicates cleaning needs, maintenance, repairs, and concerns to shift supervisor
- responds to customer cleaning requests in a timely manner
- performs daily patient room cleaning and discharge cleaning according to procedures
- collects and transfers trash and soiled linen
- empties waste receptacles and linen holders
- cleans trash/linen collection carts
- sweeps, dust mops and wet mops floors
- operates floor cleaning machines
- washes walls, ceilings, windows, sinks, cabinets, and plumbing fixtures
- refills disposable supplies
- monitors quality and inspects own work
- completes special cleaning assignments
- attends department in-service and education meetings
- follows policies and procedures
- performs all other duties as assigned
