Job Requirements
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
- Must be an American citizen or Green Card holder
- Willing and able to work a minimum of 12 hours per day for 7 days a week
- Ability to work up to 28 weeks
- Able to meet moderate physical demands including lifting, bending, climbing, and extended periods of standing or walking
- Willing to undergo a pre-employment drug test including testing for marijuana and other controlled substances
- Prohibition of alcohol consumption while on duty
- Compliance with grooming standards including limitations on visible tattoos and piercings
- Commitment to safety and emergency functions as trained
- Temporary employment not to extend beyond 28 weeks
- Positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure
Job Qualifications
- Previous hospitality or housekeeping experience preferred but not required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to provide courteous and efficient guest service
- Good physical stamina and endurance
- Ability to follow instructions and safety protocols
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Basic literacy and numerical skills
Job Duties
- Responsible for creating and maintaining an environment that is clean, safe, and attractive for our guests
- Prioritizing comfort and cleanliness of staterooms, facilities, and common areas around the ship
- Acknowledge guests by name and kindly take action for all housekeeping-related inquiries and service requests according to American Cruise Lines’ service standards
- Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors
- Organizing inventory and stocking linen and supplies
- Carefully cleaning up spills with appropriate equipment and notifying managers of necessary maintenance requests
- Collecting and disposing of trash
- Properly cleaning upholstered furniture and lounge spaces
- Creating genuine relationships with our guests and catering to all housekeeping requests in an efficient manner
- Assist with greeting guests upon embarkation and help during special events including afternoon tea, snacks, and evening cocktail parties
