Job Requirements

  • At least eighteen years of age
  • American citizen or Green Card holder
  • Willing and able to work a minimum of 12 hours per day for 7 days a week for up to 28 weeks
  • Able to meet moderate physical demands including lifting, bending, climbing, and extended periods of standing or walking
  • Must pass pre-employment drug testing including Marijuana and other controlled substances
  • No consumption of alcohol allowed during employment
  • Must comply with grooming standards limiting visible tattoos and piercings
  • Temporary employment position not to exceed 28 weeks
  • Ability to perform emergency and safety functions essential for ship operation

  • Ability to participate in emergency and safety training required for shipboard employees

Job Duties

  • Responsible for creating and maintaining an environment that is clean, safe, and attractive for our guests
  • Prioritizing comfort and cleanliness of staterooms, facilities, and common areas around the ship
  • Acknowledge guests by name and kindly take action for all housekeeping-related inquiries and service requests according to American Cruise Lines’ service standards
  • Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors
  • Organizing inventory and stocking linen and supplies
  • Carefully cleaning up spills with appropriate equipment and notifying managers of necessary maintenance requests
  • Collecting and disposing of trash
  • Properly cleaning upholstered furniture and lounge spaces
  • Creating genuine relationships with our guests and catering to all housekeeping requests in an efficient manner
  • Performing additional functions such as greeting guests upon embarkation and assisting during special events including afternoon tea, snacks, and evening cocktail parties
