Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or general education diploma (ged)
  • ability to operate basic environmental service equipment
  • prior experience in cleaning or environmental services preferred
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to follow safety protocols and regulations
  • capable of working variable shifts including every other weekend
  • ability to manage multiple tasks and work interruptions
  • willingness to work in a healthcare environment

Job Qualifications

  • knowledge of maintaining a sterile environment including proper cleaning procedures and equipment
  • ability to interpret data and instructions in various forms such as written oral diagram or schedule
  • strong written and verbal communication skills
  • well-developed time management and organizational skills
  • ability to operate basic environmental service equipment
  • ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • problem-solving skills to resolve standard issues
  • ability to build collaborative relationships

Job Duties

  • maintain cleanliness and safety of assigned areas including patient rooms offices and hallways
  • perform cleaning transport equipment handling room set-up trash removal and linen handling duties
  • distribute supplies to departments and maintain stock levels
  • adhere to local state and federal regulations codes policies and procedures to ensure sanitization and safety
  • operate environmental services equipment including floor cleaners buffers vacuums washers and dryers
  • communicate effectively with supervisors peers patients and hospital staff
  • prioritize assignments and work independently or as part of a team
