Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency
- 2+ years of housekeeping experience
- Knowledge of housekeeping equipment purpose and operation
- Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and moving of supplies furniture boxes and equipment
- Ability to work Monday to Friday 12 PM to 8 PM and Saturdays as needed
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in a healthcare setting
- Ability to follow OSHA bloodborne pathogens and infection control protocols
- Physical ability to handle exposure to cleaning chemicals and bio-hazardous materials with protective gear
- Ability to maintain professional courteous and respectful attitude in dealing with patients and coworkers
- Must be able to work flexible hours including unusual periods such as emergencies and holidays
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency
- Minimum 2 years of housekeeping experience preferably in healthcare or similar environment
- Familiarity with cleaning and sanitation tools equipment and materials
- Knowledge of infection control standards and OSHA bloodborne pathogens regulations
- Ability to safely operate housekeeping machinery such as buffers wax strippers and vacuum cleaners
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
- Professional and courteous demeanor with commitment to providing excellent customer service
Job Duties
- Collect and discard all trash daily ensuring to crush tape or tie all boxes for designated recycling date
- Clean all restrooms thoroughly daily including fixtures mirrors sinks urinals toilets wall tiles pipes partitions dispensers remove all marks and blemishes on walls doors ceilings partitions dispensers
- Sweep mop scrub all corners and edges strip wax and buff all floors and stairwells routinely or as needed
- Move all furniture boxes files cabinets equipment and supplies when stripping floors
- Clean all walls doors inside of windows and window frames baseboards light fixtures curtain rods clocks signs desks chairs wall and floor cabinets file cabinets examination tables ash trays telephones display directories shelving on a routine basis
- Report all safety hazards immediately to supervisor or designated administrator
- Assist with repair or installation of light fixtures plumbing furniture equipment including replacing burnt out light bulbs organize storage and office areas furniture as needed
- Maintain all housekeeping equipment in satisfactory condition after each use and store appropriately
- Request all housekeeping supplies in advance and keep janitor closets supply closets work areas locker room and housekeeping equipment storage area clean and organized daily
- Set up and/or transport all medical equipment required by physicians as needed
- Check and refill all dispensers hand towels hand soap and toilet tissue daily
- Collect pack tape apply sticker and dispose of all sharp containers and red bags containing bio-hazardous waste as per mandates keep bio-hazardous waste room clean sanitized and in order
- Report broken or missing supplies and equipment immediately for timely repair or replacement
- Attend all meetings and/or training sessions as required
- Perform duties during unusual periods such as snow emergencies transit strikes shortage in manpower and unusual hours weekends holidays with possible last minute notice
- Immediately report any problems or unusual occurrences to supervisor
- Practice accepted infection control measures in accordance with OSHA bloodborne pathogens standards and center policies and procedures
- Maintain a groomed appearance and wear assigned uniform at all times
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned
