Job Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license
  • successfully pass pre-employment medical screenings including drug test, physical, and TB test
  • ability to comply with Devereux's zero-tolerance policy for abuse
  • willingness to work Monday-Friday from either 1pm-9pm or 3pm-11pm
  • commitment to safety and maintaining confidentiality
  • physically able to perform custodial duties

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • one year experience in an institutional group setting preferred
  • experience working with developmentally disabled individuals preferred
  • experience in a school setting preferred
  • strong attention to detail
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • good communication skills

Job Duties

  • Sweep, mop, clean, and disinfect all staff areas, offices and bathrooms on a daily basis
  • dust and clean all A/C vents daily
  • clean all windows and windowsills
  • note any safety issues and immediately notify Program Coordinator or School Office
  • keep all housekeeping supplies and chemicals in direct line of sight of staff and never leave unattended
  • participate in monthly Environment of Care inspections and ensure compliance with Joint Commission Standards
  • maintain cleanliness and safety standards in alignment with organizational policies
