Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • CPR and hospital-selected de-escalation technique certification
  • Previous work experience
  • Ability to follow established guidelines and protocols
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules
  • Commitment to patient safety and confidentiality
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Adherence to infection prevention and control standards
  • Understanding of cultural diversity and willingness to provide compassionate care

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • CPR and hospital-selected de-escalation technique certification
  • Some college preferred
  • Maintains education and development appropriate for position
  • Previous work experience
  • One to three months related experience and/or training preferred

Job Duties

  • Perform routine cleaning of hospital areas including patient rooms, patient care units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, and stairways
  • Wash windows, walls, floors, beds, furniture upon patient discharge
  • Apply clean linen on disinfected patient beds
  • Utilize appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure
  • Use and maintain equipment properly
  • Transport trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal area
  • Replenish supplies
  • Report any furniture, fixtures, building, equipment repairs required to supervisor
  • Follow all infection prevention and control practices including handwashing, standard and isolation precautions
  • Maintain set quality standards when performing job duties
  • Complete work assignments in a timely manner
  • Perform other duties as required
