Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous experience in housekeeping or related field preferred
- ability to follow detailed cleaning schedules
- effective communication skills
- ability to work flexible hours including during emergencies or inclement weather
- ability to perform physical tasks associated with cleaning and maintenance
- adherence to attendance and call off policies
- ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
- capability to work cooperatively with others
- ability to follow safety protocols
- willingness to participate in required trainings and meetings
- clean and appropriate dress adherence

Job Duties
- Follows established cleaning schedule
- completes daily dusting, vacuuming, sweeping and mopping of all common areas
- follows established schedule for deep cleaning of resident rooms
- cleans administrative offices as scheduled
- cleans and sanitizes bathrooms
- cleans carpets and mops all floors upon request
- maintains a clean, safe, and orderly environment for all residents
- ensures and supports a dignified and caring atmosphere for residents, families, visitors, and associates
- responds promptly and courteously to residents', families', and visitors' requests for assistance
- speaks to and interacts with residents showing empathy, kindness, compassion, and respect
- communicates effectively in a language that each resident is capable of understanding
- maintains a safe and secure working environment free of objects or situations that could cause harm and/or falls to residents, families, visitors, and associates
- practices good body mechanics and safe working habits
- observes and reports safety hazards immediately to supervisor
- provides assistance to associates when requested or required
- knows, understands and follows established policy and procedures in emergency situations
- is considered essential personnel during emergencies and/or inclement weather and is required to report or remain at community until released by supervisor
- works as a team player with other associates and management in accomplishing work assignments
- always demonstrates a positive and respectful attitude about work issues, policies and procedures
- complies with attendance and call off policy
- attends and/or participates in trainings, in-service and mandatory meetings
- wears clean and appropriate dress per established dress code policy
- refrains from discussing resident issues with families and visitors and refers all inquiries to immediate nursing supervisor
- knows, understands, and complies with HIPAA regulations
- provides "hands-on" assistance when requested or needed by nursing staff while working in the community
- participates in leisure activities provided to residents as described in the activity calendar
- serves and assists residents in the dining room at breakfast, lunch and dinner daily
- takes on special projects or assignments outside of regular duties willingly
- performs all other reasonable duties as assigned or as requested
