Job Duties
- clean all resident apartments common areas and offices to assure that the building is clean at all times including furnishings fixtures ledges room heating and cooling units bathroom fixtures windows mirrors blinds shutters
- clean bathroom areas entrance and exit ways in recreational areas
- perform floor care duties including sweeping dusting damp and wet mopping stripping waxing buffing and disinfecting
- vacuum shampoo deodorize and disinfect carpets
- wash wipe dust spot clean disinfect and deodorize walls and ceilings
- remove dirt dust grease film and other debris from surfaces using proper cleaning and disinfecting solutions
- clean hallways stairways and elevators
- discard waste trash into proper containers and reline trash receptacles
- follow and maintain work cleaning schedules
- complete resident personal laundry and community laundry as assigned and iron resident laundry items as requested
- report all hazardous conditions or equipment
- remove trash and paper from all facility areas
- maintain work areas in a clean safe comfortable and attractive manner
- use appropriate protective equipment and supplies when handling infectious material hazardous waste or chemicals
- follow proper techniques mixing chemicals disinfectants and cleaning solutions
- follow established policies for use of labels and Material Safety Data Sheets MSDS
- report missing or inappropriately labeled hazardous chemicals
- maintain infection control and universal precautions practices
- clean bed and all resident furniture upon resident transfer or discharge
- clean and stock housekeeping cart and ensure chemicals are inaccessible to residents
- take mops and cleaning cloths to laundry at end of shift
- attend scheduled in-services
- demonstrate flexibility in work schedule including holidays and extra shifts
- support community marketing through positive and friendly interactions during property tours and telephone contact
- communicate observed or suspected resident condition changes immediately
- display tact and friendliness when interacting with residents families and visitors
- maintain safe and secure environment for staff residents and guests following safety standards
- encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions
- support positive and professional image through actions and dress
- perform other duties as assigned by Maintenance Director or Executive Director
