Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in janitorial or environmental services preferred
  • knowledge of chemical cleaning agents and supplies
  • ability to follow detailed instructions and health protocols
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • basic understanding of safety and infection control procedures

Job Duties

  • Perform routine cleaning of hospital areas including patient rooms, patient care units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, and stairways
  • Wash windows, walls, floors, beds, and furniture upon patient discharge
  • Apply clean linen on disinfected patient beds
  • Utilize appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure
  • Use and maintain cleaning equipment properly
  • Transport trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal areas
  • Replenish supplies
  • Report any repairs needed for furniture, fixtures, buildings, or equipment to supervisor
  • Follow infection prevention and control practices including handwashing, standard precautions, and isolation precautions
  • Maintain quality standards when performing duties
  • Complete work assignments in a timely manner
  • Perform other duties as required
