Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in janitorial or environmental services preferred
- knowledge of chemical cleaning agents and supplies
- ability to follow detailed instructions and health protocols
- excellent communication skills
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- basic understanding of safety and infection control procedures
Job Duties
- Perform routine cleaning of hospital areas including patient rooms, patient care units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, and stairways
- Wash windows, walls, floors, beds, and furniture upon patient discharge
- Apply clean linen on disinfected patient beds
- Utilize appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure
- Use and maintain cleaning equipment properly
- Transport trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal areas
- Replenish supplies
- Report any repairs needed for furniture, fixtures, buildings, or equipment to supervisor
- Follow infection prevention and control practices including handwashing, standard precautions, and isolation precautions
- Maintain quality standards when performing duties
- Complete work assignments in a timely manner
- Perform other duties as required
