Job Duties
- performs routine cleaning of hospital areas including patient rooms, patient care units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators and stairways
- washes windows, walls, floors, beds, furniture upon patient discharge
- applies clean linen on disinfected patient bed
- utilizes appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure
- uses and maintains equipment properly
- transports trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal area
- replenishes supplies
- reports any furniture, fixtures, building, equipment repairs required to supervisor
- follows all infection prevention and control practices including handwashing techniques, standard precautions and isolation precautions
- maintains set quality standard when performing job duties
- completes work assignments in a timely manner
- performs other duties as required
- strives to create a safe, healing environment for patients and family members
- follows all safety rules while on the job
- reports near misses, errors and accidents promptly
- corrects minor safety hazards
- communicates with peers and management regarding any hazards identified in the workplace
- attends all required safety programs and understands responsibilities related to general, department, and job specific safety
- participates in quality projects and supports quality initiatives
- supports and maintains a culture of safety and quality
