Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • performs routine cleaning of hospital areas including patient rooms, patient care units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators and stairways
  • washes windows, walls, floors, beds, furniture upon patient discharge
  • applies clean linen on disinfected patient bed
  • utilizes appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure
  • uses and maintains equipment properly
  • transports trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal area
  • replenishes supplies
  • reports any furniture, fixtures, building, equipment repairs required to supervisor
  • follows all infection prevention and control practices including handwashing techniques, standard precautions and isolation precautions
  • maintains set quality standard when performing job duties
  • completes work assignments in a timely manner
  • performs other duties as required
  • strives to create a safe, healing environment for patients and family members
  • follows all safety rules while on the job
  • reports near misses, errors and accidents promptly
  • corrects minor safety hazards
  • communicates with peers and management regarding any hazards identified in the workplace
  • attends all required safety programs and understands responsibilities related to general, department, and job specific safety
  • participates in quality projects and supports quality initiatives
  • supports and maintains a culture of safety and quality
