Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in cleaning or janitorial services preferred

Job Duties
- performs routine cleaning of hospital areas including patient rooms, clinical units, offices, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators and stairways
- washes windows, walls, floors, beds and furniture upon patient discharge
- applies clean linen on disinfected patient beds
- utilizes appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedures
- uses and maintains cleaning equipment properly
- transports trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal areas
- replenishes supplies
- reports furniture, fixtures, building or equipment repairs to supervisor
- follows infection prevention and control practices including handwashing, standard and isolation precautions
- maintains quality standards while performing duties
- completes work assignments timely
- performs other duties as required
- creates a safe healing environment for patients and family
- follows all safety rules
- reports near misses, errors and accidents promptly
- corrects minor safety hazards
- communicates hazards to peers and management
- attends required safety programs
