Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
  • Ability to follow written, oral, diagram, and schedule instructions
  • Ability to communicate with team members, supervisors, patients, and hospital personnel
  • Ability to prioritize assignments and adhere to standardized policies and procedures
  • Capability to operate mechanical cleaning equipment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to work variable shifts including day, evening, and night
  • Availability to work every other weekend
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
  • Knowledge of maintaining a sterile environment and proper cleaning procedures
  • Ability to operate environmental service equipment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Well-developed time management and organizational abilities
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently or as part of a team
  • Experience working in an environment with interruptions and multiple simultaneous tasks
  • Ability to identify and resolve routine problems using established solutions
  • Capacity to collaborate effectively with peers and hospital staff

Job Duties

  • Perform a variety of cleaning tasks to maintain patient rooms, offices, and hallways
  • Transport supplies and equipment as needed
  • Handle and operate environmental service equipment, including floor cleaners, buffers, vacuums, washers, and dryers
  • Remove trash and manage linen handling duties
  • Set up rooms for patient care and other hospital functions
  • Distribute supplies to departments and maintain inventory stock levels
  • Adhere to local, state, and federal sanitization and safety regulations while performing duties
