Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age
- Ability to perform physical tasks related to housekeeping
- Willingness to follow all safety and infection control guidelines
- Availability to work full-time hours
- Ability to attend required training sessions
- Basic understanding of cleaning chemical handling
- Commitment to respectful interaction with residents and staff
Job Qualifications
- One (1) year of housekeeping experience is preferred
- Ability to attend in-service training sessions
- Understanding of safety and infection control standards
- Ability to follow detailed cleaning and safety procedures
- Good communication skills to interact with residents and staff respectfully
- Physical ability to perform demanding cleaning tasks
- Commitment to maintaining personal and environmental safety
Job Duties
- Ensure that equipment is cleaned and properly stored at the end of the shift
- Knock before entering a resident’s room
- Attend in-service training as required
- Follow all safety procedures of the department and community
- Abide by all infection control standards of the department
- Keep utility and storage areas in good order and clean
- Handle and store all cleaning chemicals in accordance with OSHA regulations
- Assume responsibility for personal safety and environmental safety
- Scour and polish all bathroom apparatus
- Routine cleaning of resident rooms (e.g. sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, empty trash baskets, etc.)
- Clean, sanitize, dust and vacuum all areas of the community on a daily basis
- Ensure that work/cleaning schedules are followed as closely as practical
- Perform day-to-day housekeeping functions as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor
