Job Description
Martin County Hospital District (MCHD), established in 1967, is a critical access hospital located in West Texas, serving Martin County and the surrounding communities. Job Requirements
- high school diploma or GED
- prior housekeeping experience preferred
- experience in hospital setting desirable
- requires walking and standing for extended periods
- ability to bend, stoop, and reach
- sufficient visual acuity with correction
- sufficient hearing acuity
- ability to communicate effectively in English
- ability to exert up to 50 lbs of force occasionally
- ability to use personal protective equipment
- willingness to work extended shifts and standby during emergencies
Job Qualifications

- knowledge of cleaning and disinfecting procedures in healthcare environments
Job Duties
- perform cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting of hospital, clinic, home health, and EMS areas
- ensure facilities are clean and safe for patients, employees, guests, and visitors
- comply with all standards set forth by Martin County Hospital District and CMS
- practice AIDET communication to maintain high levels of customer service
- use personal protective equipment during at-risk procedures
- respond to emergency situations including standby and extended shifts as required
- maintain awareness of safety and infection control protocols
