Job Requirements

  • Must satisfy all state health licensure certification and background requirements
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of housekeeping experience strongly preferred
  • Assisted living or long-term care facility experience preferred
  • Must be able to receive and carry out verbal or written instructions
  • Must communicate effectively in person over the phone or via email with customers and co-workers
  • Must be able to perform repetitive work according to set procedures with frequent distractions and interruptions
  • Must recognize problems and know when to escalate to appropriate team members
  • May require proficiency with computers to participate in trainings and other assigned tasks

Job Duties

  • Efficiently and effectively clean resident apartments including taking out garbage sweeping vacuuming mopping cleaning and disinfecting surfaces changing linens sorting washing and putting away laundry
  • Assist with resident transfer to another room if needed while apartment is being cleaned
  • Efficiently and effectively clean restrooms and other common areas of the community
  • Ensure chemicals are marked appropriately and locked away when not in use
  • Lead and guide other housekeepers and be responsible for quality control
  • Practice basic infection control with linens hand washing and all other aspects of resident care
  • Attend mandatory meetings as scheduled by the Executive Director
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident community employee and company information
  • Maintain working knowledge of fire and disaster plans and responsibilities under emergency conditions
  • Perform other duties as assigned
