Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to provide housekeeping and laundry services according to Sunrise’s quality standards
  • Desire to work with seniors
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and infection control techniques
  • Ability to maintain cleaning equipment and supplies
  • Ability to transport linen and supplies to appropriate areas
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and handle multiple priorities
  • Willingness to participate in required training and team activities
  • Successful completion of drug testing and other pre-employment evaluations
  • Compliance with vaccination requirements where applicable

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Experience in housekeeping and laundry services preferably in a resident-centered environment
  • Ability to provide resident-focused service that meets Sunrise quality standards
  • Desire to work with seniors
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work semi-independently and handle multiple priorities
  • Good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

Job Duties

  • Perform general housekeeping duties in resident suites, public areas, and support areas while meeting or exceeding Sunrise quality standards
  • Clean resident suites, bathrooms, common areas and offices including sweeping, dusting, mopping, vacuuming, polishing fixtures and furniture
  • Respect residents' privacy by knocking before entering rooms
  • Maintain housekeeping equipment and supplies in clean and orderly condition
  • Transport supplies including clean and soiled linen to appropriate areas
  • Collect and remove trash and maintain trash receptacles
  • Collect, wash, dry, fold, count, and stack linens following approved laundry procedures
  • Inspect linens for wear and follow procedures for damaged items
  • Maintain commercial laundry in clean and sanitary condition
  • Assist Care Managers and Department Coordinators with resident care when requested
  • Respond to resident requests and document resident information
  • Ensure the safe storage and use of cleaning chemicals
  • Comply with safety procedures, infection control techniques, and risk management policies
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and engagement programs
  • Perform other duties as assigned
