Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Experience in housekeeping and laundry services
  • Desire to work with seniors
  • Ability to respect resident privacy and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to follow safety and infection control protocols
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members
  • Ability to attend required training and team meetings
  • Must pass pre-employment drug test and health screenings
  • Compliance with Covid-19 and influenza vaccination mandates as required
  • Must be able to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods
  • Must be able to safely handle cleaning chemicals and equipment

Job Qualifications

  • Experience providing housekeeping and laundry services in a resident-centered environment
  • Desire to work with seniors
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Competent organizational and time management skills
  • Good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to work semi-independently and follow community procedures
  • Ability to perform tasks with frequent interruptions

Job Duties

  • Perform general housekeeping duties in resident suites and common areas while meeting Sunrise quality standards
  • Perform cleaning duties including sweeping, dusting, mopping, sanitizing lavatory and shower fixtures, and polishing glass and wood surfaces
  • Respect resident privacy by knocking before entering rooms and public restrooms
  • Maintain housekeeping equipment and supplies in clean and orderly condition
  • Transport supplies including clean and soiled linens to appropriate areas
  • Collect and dispose of trash ensuring cleanliness and sanitation
  • Collect, clean, and redistribute community laundry following approved procedures
  • Sort, wash, dry, fold, count, and stack linens
  • Inspect linens for wear and damage and follow procedures for damaged linens
  • Maintain commercial laundry cleanliness and order
  • Assist care managers and department coordinators with resident care when requested
  • Respond to resident requests and report feedback to supervisors
  • Ensure safety by storing chemicals securely and maintaining clear exits
  • Comply with infection control techniques and safety regulations including PPE use
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and engagement activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned
