Job Requirements
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to provide housekeeping and laundry services in a resident-centered environment
- Desire to work with seniors
- Ability to follow procedures and work semi-independently
- Good judgment and decision-making skills
- Availability to commit to scheduled shifts
- Physical ability to perform cleaning and lifting tasks
- Willingness to participate in required drug testing and health screenings as mandated
- Ability to safely handle cleaning chemicals and equipment
- Effective communication skills
- Must review and understand driver job description if driving community vehicles.

Job Duties
- Perform general housekeeping duties in resident suites, public areas, and support areas as assigned while meeting or exceeding Sunrise's quality standards
- Perform cleaning duties according to schedule in assigned areas such as resident suites, bathrooms, common areas and offices including sweeping, dusting, and mopping floors
- Clean, sanitize, and polish lavatory, shower, and sink fixtures
- Dust, wash, sponge mop, sanitize and hand shampoo furniture and clean glass surfaces, woodwork, walls, and windowsills
- Knock on resident and public restroom doors before entering and respect privacy
- Maintain equipment and supplies in a clean and orderly condition
- Transport supplies including clean and soiled linens to storage and collection areas
- Collect trash and maintain trash receptacles and collection areas in a clean and sanitary manner
- Collect, clean, and redistribute community laundry
- Sort, wash, dry, fold, count, and stack linens following approved laundry procedures
- Inspect linens for wear and tear and follow community procedures for damaged linens
- Maintain commercial laundry in a clean and sanitary condition
- Assist Care Managers and Department Coordinators with resident care when requested
- Practice positive resident relations and respond to resident requests
- Document pertinent information on Daily Log regarding resident’s physical and behavioral changes
- Ensure cleaning chemicals are stored safely and locked when not in use
- Keep equipment and carts out of the way and in compliance with fire codes
- Promote compliance with occupational health and safety requirements and risk management policies
- Use Personal Protective Equipment and follow safety procedures including fire extinguisher use and Lockout Tagout
- Participate as a member of a team and commit to team goals
- Attend team meetings and maintain required training compliance
- Perform other duties as assigned.
