Job Requirements

  • Ability to arrive to work on time when scheduled
  • Physically able to move large objects such as carts, large bags of linen, ironing board
  • Physically able to operate cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, brooms, spray bottles
  • Ability to read and recognize suite numbers
  • Willingness to work weekend, holiday, and morning shifts
  • Flexibility with scheduling to meet hotel operations needs
  • No immigration or work visa sponsorship will be provided
  • Must follow personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements and safety procedures

Job Qualifications

  • High school degree or equivalent preferred
  • 6 months of housekeeping or janitorial services preferred
  • Ability to learn, follow and enforce standards for cleanliness with exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Organization and time management skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members verbally or in written form
  • Ability to operate in a 7-day per week, 24-hour per day business environment

Job Duties

  • Cleaning suites, rooms, and other areas as assigned to meet health and safety standards within the specified timeframe
  • Making beds, dusting, vacuuming, and washing windows/tracks
  • Using vacuum cleaners and shampooers on rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies
  • Wiping down counters, coffee tables, side tables, and other furniture
  • Thoroughly cleaning bathrooms, showers, toilets, bathtubs, sinks, flooring, and countertops
  • Removing trash from rooms, emptying trash cans, placing trash in larger bags, and delivering to designated area
  • Reporting rooms as cleaned and available
  • Replenishing or replacing supplies in rooms such as drinking glasses, linens, writing supplies, shower curtains, and other bathroom items
  • Maintaining maid cart with cleaning products, supplies, and equipment, including vacuum maintenance
  • Reporting, turning in, and logging all lost and found items
  • Greeting or acknowledging guests immediately and politely
  • Responding to special requests and questions by guests, providing extra amenities in a timely manner
  • Providing customer service including information about hotel services, activities and local attractions, or directing guests to the front desk
  • Returning items such as luggage carts, large bags of linen, cots, or baby cribs to designated area
  • Reporting and assisting with maintenance deficiencies, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries
  • Following personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements and reporting defective, damaged or lost PPE
  • Following all safety procedures and responding appropriately in emergency situations
  • Ensuring uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
  • Maintaining a hospitable service atmosphere at all times
