Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED preferred
  • experience in housekeeping and laundry services in a resident-centered environment
  • desire to work with seniors
  • ability to follow safety and infection control procedures
  • capable of handling multiple priorities and interruptions
  • ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • able to work independently with initiative
  • willingness to participate in team activities and training
  • must comply with health and safety requirements including drug testing and vaccination policies

Job Duties

  • perform general housekeeping duties in resident suites, public areas, and support areas as assigned while meeting or exceeding quality standards
  • perform cleaning duties according to schedule including sweeping, dusting, mopping, spot cleaning, vacuuming floors and carpets
  • clean, sanitize, and polish lavatory, shower, and sink fixtures
  • dust, wash, sponge mop, sanitize and hand shampoo furniture and clean glass surfaces and woodwork
  • knock on resident and restroom doors before entering and respect privacy
  • maintain equipment and supplies in a clean and orderly condition
  • transport supplies including clean and soiled linen and collect and remove trash maintaining sanitary conditions
  • collect, clean, and redistribute community laundry
  • sort, wash, dry, fold, count, and stack linens following approved procedures
  • inspect linens for wear and tear and manage damaged linens according to policy
  • maintain commercial laundry cleanliness
  • assist care managers and department coordinators with resident care when requested
  • respond to resident requests and document resident information in daily logs
  • ensure cleaning chemicals are safely stored and comply with fire safety codes
  • promote risk management and safety policies including PPE and infection control
  • participate in team engagement activities, meetings, and training programs
  • perform other duties as assigned
