Job Requirements

  • Must function independently and have flexibility

  • Physical capability to perform cleaning duties
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Effective communication skills to coordinate with nursing and other personnel
  • Knowledge of cleaning procedures, chemical handling, and infection control practices
  • Experience in a healthcare or similar environment preferred but not required
  • Basic understanding of safety standards and regulations
  • Commitment to maintaining cleanliness and safety standards

Job Duties

  • Ensure that work/cleaning schedules are followed as closely as practical
  • Coordinate daily housekeeping services with nursing services when performing routine assignments in resident living areas
  • Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments
  • Ensure that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner
  • Keep work/assignment areas free of hazardous objects, unnecessary equipment, supplies, etc.
  • Follow proper techniques when mixing chemicals, disinfectants, and solutions used in the work area
  • Refer to material safety data sheets (MSDSs) when necessary
  • Ensure that established infection control and universal precautions practices are maintained when performing laundry procedures
