  • Healthcare cleaning work experience preferred
  • Experience in similar heavy project work
  • Lead experience in related field preferred
  • Ability to follow departmental cleaning protocols
  • Knowledge of biohazard disposal and safety procedures
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

Job Duties

  • Clean and maintain patient and non-patient areas in a clean and sanitary condition
  • Damp dust, sanitize, and spot clean furniture, lamps, window sills, walls, doors, and other horizontal surfaces
  • Clean toilets, sinks, showers, dust, dry mop, and damp/wet mop floors including baseboard cleaning
  • Refill all soap and paper product dispensers
  • Wash windows, glass, blinds, walls, ceilings, doors, and doorframes
  • Dust and clean high dust vents, lights, tops of lockers, pictures, and other elevated objects
  • Perform detailed cleaning under sinks, beds, desks, floor edges, corners, baseboards, and telephones
  • Empty, sanitize, and re-line all trash receptacles and dispose of waste appropriately
  • Strip, sanitize, and make beds according to department needs
  • Collect and transport medical waste following DOT, State, and department policies
  • Follow San-I-Pak procedures including proper PPE use and security precautions
  • Respond to calls for spillage and breakage
  • Perform specialized cleaning tasks including first impressions within the first hour of the shift
  • Hang or detach drapes and cubicle curtains, move furniture and beds as needed
  • Complete cycle cleaning projects weekly
  • Demonstrate awareness and sensitivity toward various patient age groups
  • Maintain a professional and safe work environment
  • Prioritize workload effectively and take initiative
  • Use gloves, goggles, cover gowns, and other PPE as needed
  • Wear proper department uniforms
  • Follow fire and safety policies, hazardous material procedures, triage disaster, radiation disaster, and equipment safety regulations
