Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- at least 1 year of experience in cleaning field or related field
- commitment to a mission-driven environment aligned with Catholic, Norbertine, and liberal arts values
- ability to work with others positively and effectively
- ability to maintain a professional work ethic around students and living areas
- skilled in general cleaning practices and use of cleaning equipment
- ability to learn operation of scrubbers, extractors, and wet vacs
- ability to communicate politely with campus community and visitors
- knowledge of cleaning solutions and various uses

Job Duties
- Maintain cleanliness of academic and/or housing areas according to standards set by the Manager of Housekeeping
- vacuuming, dusting, washing and wiping surfaces
- wet and dry mopping
- emptying garbage and recycling baskets
- cleaning windows
- cleaning bathroom fixtures
- picking up small trash items
- perform deep cleaning during summer months including shampooing carpeted and upholstered areas, stripping, scrubbing, diamond-buffing, and refinishing hard floors
- clean behind appliances and furniture
- set up, breakdown, and clean areas for special events such as graduation and summer conference programs
- provide cleanup for unexpected emergencies such as water or human damage
- communicate unsafe conditions, building needs, missing equipment and furniture, damaged college property, expired fire extinguishers, and community requests to supervisors and/or Managers of Housekeeping
- shovel entrances of assigned buildings when needed
- maintain a stock of cleaning supplies and equipment for the work area
- participate in on-call and weekend work programs
