Job Description

Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in housekeeping or custodial work preferred
- physical ability to perform cleaning tasks including lifting and standing for extended periods
- knowledge of cleaning supplies and chemicals
- ability to follow instructions and safety procedures
- availability to work part time
- trustworthy and dependable
- good communication skills
Job Qualifications

- prior housekeeping or janitorial experience is an asset
- ability to use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely
- good physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor

Job Duties
- Clean assigned area per instructions by washing, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, and dusting as needed
- use cleaning supplies and chemicals as directed
- keep assigned areas free from dust by regular high and low dusting
- keep all restrooms in the assigned area clean and sanitized
- ensure the area assigned is in a neat, orderly, and prescribed manner
- make sure the storage area for cleaning items is neat and clean
- report any unsafe condition that exists in the assigned area to the supervisor
- empty trash containers as assigned
- clean windows inside and outside
- unclog sinks and toilets as needed
- assist in preparation for meetings and other functions as asked
- respond to changes in the workload schedule as necessary, continually using time in a productive manner
- attend department meetings and in-services as required
- stock supply room
- ensure adequate supplies are available
- observe all safety precautions
- lift properly to avoid careless accidents
- train new employees as needed
- stay on task
- utilize lunch and break times appropriately
- perform other responsibilities as assigned
