Job Requirements

  • Previous experience in housekeeping and laundry services
  • Desire to work with seniors
  • Ability to follow safety and infection control protocols
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Compliance with training requirements and community policies

Job Duties

  • Perform general housekeeping duties in resident suites, public areas, and support areas while meeting quality standards
  • Clean assigned areas including sweeping, dusting, wet mopping, vacuuming, sanitizing lavatory fixtures, polishing furniture and glass surfaces
  • Respect residents’ privacy by knocking before entering rooms and maintaining professional conduct
  • Maintain housekeeping equipment and supplies in a clean and orderly condition
  • Transport supplies including clean and soiled linen to appropriate areas
  • Collect and dispose of trash in a sanitary manner
  • Collect, wash, dry, fold, and redistribute community laundry according to approved procedures
  • Inspect linens for wear and tear and follow procedures for damaged linens
  • Maintain commercial laundry area clean and orderly
  • Assist Care Managers and Department Coordinators with resident care as requested
  • Respond to resident requests and communicate feedback to supervisors
  • Review daily logs to monitor resident health and behavior changes
  • Ensure proper storage and locking of cleaning chemicals
  • Keep hazards like cords and equipment clear of exits and comply with fire codes
  • Promote safety compliance and participate in risk management efforts
  • Use personal protective equipment and follow safety protocols
  • Maintain equipment to prevent waste and accidents
  • Comply with infection control techniques and bio-hazard procedures
  • Participate in team meetings and training
  • Contribute positively to team goals and resident service principles
  • Perform other duties as assigned
