Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Institutional housekeeping experience preferred
  • Ability to read, write and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to demonstrate correct use of work-related chemicals, supplies, tools and equipment
  • Ability to collaborate with others in order to provide optimal customer service
  • Ability to lift and transport objects weighing up to 65lbs
  • Ability to stoop, bend, walk and stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Ability to work from a ladder
  • Ability to push and move equipment and furniture
  • Manual dexterity, coordination and skillful use of hands when working with required equipment

Job Duties

  • Perform routine cleaning of assigned areas using standard supplies and disinfectants
  • Sanitize room contents for terminal cleaning after resident discharge
  • Clean apartments after resident move or renovations, noting maintenance and damage
  • Move and relocate furniture and equipment for resident room changes or events
  • Care for hard surface floors and upholstery, including dust mopping, damp mopping, and spot cleaning
  • Pick up and remove trash from assigned areas
  • Maintain cleaning equipment in clean and safe condition, performing nominal maintenance and removing unsafe equipment
  • Communicate effectively with clinical and non-clinical staff
  • Report any resident belongings left behind and changes in resident status to supervisors
  • Complete cleaning assignments in a timely manner following established procedures
  • Cross-train on multiple floors or neighborhoods
