Job Requirements
- High school education or equivalent preferred
- prior experience in housekeeping or maintenance
- effective English communication skills
- dependable and organized
- ability to follow instructions with limited supervision
- willingness to work weekends
- physical ability to perform cleaning and maintenance tasks
- interest in elder care environment preferred
Job Qualifications
- Some high school education
- prior housekeeping or general maintenance experience
- ability to communicate effectively in English verbally and in writing
- dependable with common sense and strong organizational skills
- ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work independently
- interest in working with older adults preferred
- availability to work weekends if required
Job Duties
- Perform cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedule and departmental standards
- complete minor maintenance tasks including changing light bulbs, plunging toilets, and changing batteries
- maintain floors through sweeping, mopping, stripping, scrubbing, waxing, vacuuming, extraction, hosting, and buffing
- assist in cleaning emergency spills as observed or reported
- perform project cleaning of walls, ceilings, vents, light fixtures, and windows as assigned
- remove trash and recyclables from collection points and public areas, replace trash liners, and transport to dumpster
- participate in resident moves at times of transfer or discharge and move furniture as needed
- participate in campus linen program including distributing, collecting, counting, and preparing linen for pick-up
- maintain cleaning equipment and report repair needs
- observe and report facility repair needs
- participate in receiving supplies and deliveries
- assist in snow and ice salting as needed
