Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, Trade School Diploma, or equivalent
  • comparable work experience
  • experience operating vacuum cleaner and high-speed buffer
  • ability to lift and move furniture and appliances
  • ability to stand for several hours during shift and to climb stairs in the event of an emergency
  • willingness to work onsite
  • ability to work a 35-hour work week
  • ability to perform physical tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, waxing, and snow shoveling

Job Qualifications

  • Comparable work experience
  • experience operating vacuum cleaner and high-speed buffer
  • ability to lift and move furniture and appliances
  • high School Diploma, GED, Trade School Diploma, or equivalent
  • ability to stand for several hours during shift and to climb stairs in the event of an emergency
  • experience working with special needs populations is a plus
  • basic knowledge of using a computer is a plus

Job Duties

  • Sweep, mop, wash, dust, and vacuum
  • seal, wax, and buff floors and hard surfaces
  • maintain sidewalks, including sweeping, raking leaves, and shoveling snow
  • clean individual units when vacated or requested by work order
  • sort and package recyclables to comply with NYC regulations
  • operate compactor
  • set up and clean up for meetings and other events
  • assist painters and engineers when assigned
  • perform work at other facilities as required
  • perform other related duties as assigned
