Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a cleaning or environmental services role preferred
- Ability to use various cleaning equipment and disinfectants safely
- Must complete hospital-wide orientation and competency training
- Compliance with seasonal and job-related vaccinations
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Availability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Awareness of hospital and department compliance related to federally funded healthcare programs such as Medicare and Medicaid
- Ability to conduct job tasks ethically supporting hospital commitments
- Completion of hospital-wide orientation, annual hospital competencies, and department/unit specific competencies
- Effective communication skills to interact positively with public, patients, and staff
- Customer and patient service-focused attitude
- Technical aptitude with cleaning equipment and chemicals
- Demonstrated professionalism and high integrity maintaining confidentiality
- Ability to work cooperatively and courteously with coworkers
- Understanding of the needs of customers across different life stages
Job Duties
- Perform daily cleaning and restocking in patient rooms, nurses stations, lounges, bathrooms, and offices
- Conduct isolation and discharge cleaning of patient rooms according to hospital standards
- Utilize cleaning equipment such as housekeeper carts, germicidal disinfectants, high dusters, microfiber mops, ladders, vacuums, mini extractors, and Xenex robot
- Assist with emergency spill clean-up as requested
- Maintain cleanliness and proper working condition of assigned cleaning equipment
- Report any necessary repairs to equipment, furniture, building, or fixtures
- Perform assigned duties during emergencies
