Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • experience providing housekeeping and laundry services
  • desire to work with seniors
  • ability to follow safety and risk management procedures
  • ability to maintain privacy and respect for residents
  • physical capability to perform housekeeping tasks
  • willingness to complete required training
  • compliance with drug testing and other pre-employment requirements
  • as applicable, ability to understand and agree to driving job requirements

Job Duties

  • Perform general housekeeping duties in resident suites, public areas, and support areas as assigned while meeting or exceeding Sunrise’s quality standards
  • perform cleaning duties according to schedule including sweeping, dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing fixtures
  • respect resident privacy by knocking before entering rooms and restrooms
  • maintain equipment and supplies in a clean and orderly condition
  • transport clean and soiled linen to appropriate areas
  • collect and properly dispose of trash and maintain trash receptacles
  • collect, clean, sort, wash, dry, fold, count, and stack linens following approved procedures
  • inspect linens for wear and report issues
  • keep laundry area clean and sanitary
  • assist care managers with resident care as needed
  • respond to resident requests and maintain positive resident relations
  • document resident information and changes by reading and noting daily logs
  • ensure proper storage and secure handling of cleaning chemicals
  • keep work areas free of hazards and comply with safety and fire codes
  • participate actively in risk management programs and comply with safety procedures including PPE and SDS usage
  • maintain equipment to prevent waste and damage
  • comply with infection control protocols
  • work collaboratively as part of the team and contribute to team goals
  • demonstrate company values and participate in engagement programs
  • attend required meetings and training sessions
  • perform additional duties as assigned
